Strathcona Gardens, Sports Complex and Community Center suspend group physical activities for adults – Campbell River Mirror

In response to the March 29 Provincial Health Order, the Regional District of Strathcona and the City of Campbell River are temporarily suspending all indoor group physical activities for adults until April 19.

Amateur sport for young people and group activities following the guidelines of viaSport phase 2 will continue.

As of today, the programs temporarily suspended until further notice at Strathcona Gardens are:

– All aquatic fitness classes

– All chronic disease management / rehabilitation courses

– Strathcona Gardens will continue to offer the following individual exercise, with a safe physical distance maintained:

– Private one-on-one fitness sessions

– Private skating sessions

– Pre-recorded lane swimming and public skating

– All programs for children and young people are in progress

At the Sportsplex and at the Community Center:

– All adult fitness classes are canceled

– The weight room is always open

– All programs for children and young people are in progress

The Town and Regional District of Strathcona appreciate the patience and support of the community as service levels are adjusted to conform to changing public health demands.
